Fields Use Fees

Dear Grosse Pointe Little League Softball players and families,

Each year, the GPLLS Board puts a lot of time and thought into how much we will ask you to pay to participate in the upcoming season. Like any organization, GPLLS incurs yearly operating expenses that must be covered. Even so, we do everything in our power to keep participation fees reasonable so that cost is not a determining factor with regard to player participation.

Unfortunately, this season, GPLLS was required to increase participation costs by a greater degree than ever before. This is almost entirely due to field usage fees being enforced by the Grosse Pointe Public School System. This year, and in future years, GPLLS will be charged a minimum of $25 an hour for use of any school field or facility. We are extremely proud and excited that our program continues to thrive and grow each year. But, with this success comes a greater need for fields and diamonds. And now, a hefty field-use price tag.

This season, each GPLLS player will be assessed a $25 surcharge as part of their registration costs to help offset the new field-use fees. We sincerely hope you understand our difficult decision. As always, if your child is facing a financial hardship that may impact participation, please reach out to any Board member directly.
