Let's Play Ball!

We are excited to announce that we will have a 2020 Little League Softball season. 

Because we are starting the season later than usual and due to restrictions surrounding the pandemic, things will be a bit different. But the focus will be on community and fun. 

Here are the current plans for the season: 
  • Practices starting 6/15, games starting June 24th and running until early to mid August.  This timeline is subject to change if subsequent developments require it.
  •  No weekend games.  All games will be on weeknights.
  •  All safety and health guidelines required by the State of Michigan will be followed.  As of now, that requires 6 feet of social distance between all players, coaches and spectators not from the same household.  But outdoor groups of 100 or less are allowed effective immediately.  We will not play games until the 6 foot rule is relaxed.  And we will structure practices so that the girls can stay 6 feet apart.  The hope is that additional relaxing of these requirements will be coming before the 4th of July weekend.  We will have specific guidelines and recommendations for everyone shortly.
  •  Umpires will be calling balls and strikes from an appropriate and safe distance from the players.
  • Teams will be assigned by the League.  There will be no evaluations, and no draft.  We will make every effort to ensure that teams are competitively balanced.
  • There will be no games from Friday-Monday of the July 4th weekend.
  • Our goal is for every team to play as close to a full season as possible.  However, we have decided to suspend the playoffs for this season, with the focus squarely on community and fun for the girls.
  • Uniforms, fields, and structure will be a bit different from what you are used to.  But we will strive to put a quality experience together for your girls.
